FBC Students

FBC Students exist as a ministry of Thomasville First Baptist Church to help 6th-12th grade students follow Jesus for the joy of Thomasville and the nations.

Everything we do at FBC Students is centered around Jesus. We want your student to find their complete satisfaction in Christ alone. We strive to create a fun environment where students can come enjoy community, be discipled, hear the Gospel, and find out that Jesus is better than the world!

Mid-Week Students

6:00 pm // Wednesday Night Youth
We create a space for students to come and grow in their faith with their friends. Middle and High school students come together to hang out, worship together, and talk about their faith. We take time to play a game, sing songs together, hear a message from the Bible, and gather in groups to talk about the message. We want students to love coming to church, so we plan our Midweek activities to be fun and engaging, but always centered on Jesus and the Gospel.

Wednesday Night Youth Structure

  • 5:30 - 6:00: Arrival & Check-in
  • 6:00 - 6:15: Intentional Community time, announcements, and game
  • 6:15 - 6:25: Worship and prayer
  • 6:25 - 6:45: Gospel-Centered message
  • 6:45 - 7:00: Small Groups

Sunday mornings

9:45 am // Life Groups
We believe community is the best context to know and love Jesus. During our Sunday Morning Life Groups, your student will gather in a small group of gender and age specific students and be paired with two adult leaders who love Jesus and want your student to follow Jesus!

Life Group Structure

  • 9:45 - 10:00: Intentional community building time
  • 10:00 - 10:05: Announcements and life group lesson overview
  • 10:05 - 10:45: Life Groups with two adult leaders centered around intentional community and biblical teaching

11:00 am // Worship Service Student Section

If your student isn’t sitting with you as a family, we’d love for them to join us in the student section. We believe this fosters a sense of belonging and excitement when attending our worship service. Families can also attend the 8:30 am service followed by
Life Groups at 9:45 am.

Yearly Events for FBC Students

Although we have different events throughout the year, these are our consistent, yearly events:

Every January our church hosts DNOW! DNOW is our annual in-town weekend retreat centered around helping your student taste and see that Jesus is good. We will have three worship services throughout the weekend to foster spiritual growth. Your student will stay in a host home to foster intentional community. On Saturday afternoon, students will serve in our community and be a blessing to others! This weekend is students’ favorite weekend of the year and we can’t wait for your student to join us for our next DNOW!
